El Capitan, Low Clouds and Raven #2

A few inches of snow fell in Yosemite Valley overnight. Now on the backside of the storm I could feel a special kind of energy in the air. It was soooooo invigorating and I didn't want to waste one second of this day.

I hiked down to the river and followed it downstream for several minutes. The entire Valley was full of a ghost like fog. Or, maybe more accurately low clouds. Eventually the clouds began to lift, thin and part which provided interesting glimpses of El Capitan and the surrounding forest.

In this photograph I was lucky enough to catch a raven soaring high above. Probably playing on the thermals that were pushing the clouds through the Valley. It looked graceful and I once again had wishes to be a bird.
