Earthtones

This area caught my attention from the road. After a 5 minute walk through the desert landscape I stopped, changed lens' (200mm) and began to study the landscape through the viewfinder. There was so much to look at it was hard to settle on a composition! Zooming in really magnified all the detail, color and textures. It also saved me a hell of a lot of additional hiking :)

I bet when most of you visualize the desert in your mind you don't picture scenes like this.
